Classes Overview Plays chosen both for classes and for the Masters Company have included theatre classics, adaptations of culturally diverse folktales, original plays written especially for the company by the director or by students, and material developed through improvisation. Emphasis is given to the development of characters, through which comes a better understanding of the motivations and needs of others. The process of performance helps to build confidence and group interaction. The goal is a quality ensemble theatre in which cooperation and consideration for individual talents and needs are essential. Scholarships (minus registration fee) are available based on financial need and commitment. Please submit a scholarship form at least two weeks before the class begins. Occasionally, merit scholarships are granted by the director. There is also a 20% discount for the second child (or more) in a family, which is subtracted from the lesser class fee. Registration Fee Pre-registration by phone is recommended as classes fill up quickly, but your child is not officially registered until the form and $20.00 registration fee are received. The registration fee is subtracted from the total class fee, which is due the first day of the class. Please make your checks payable to YPPC. |
