2012 Summer Camps Schedule

Young Artist Music Theatre Camp - Rising 5th – 8th grades
(Students must be available for all performances)
June 11th – July 1st
Monday - Friday  9:00AM – 3:30PM

Drop off: 8:30-9:00am
3 weeks      Fee: $375

Professional voice, theatre dance & acting training culminating
in 3 performances of a musical (Tentatively “The Phantom Tollbooth”)
Dress rehearsal: Thursday, June 28th until 5:30
Performances: Friday & Sat., June 29th and 30th at 7:30pm
and Sunday, July 1st at 3:00pm


Young Artist Drama
Camp - Rising 4th-8th grades
July 30th – August 11th                         
Monday - Friday  9:00am-2:00pm
Drop off 8:30-9:00am
2 weeks      Fee: $175

Acting games, improvisation, basic set design culminating in 2
performances of a play (tba)
Dress rehearsal during class time                      
Culminating performances: non-musical play August 10th and 11th

Music Theater Camp - Rising 9th-12th grades and YPPC grads
July 9th – 27th
plus 4 performances
Monday - Friday  1:00 – 5:30PM         
3 weeks     Fee: $375
(current Masters Co: $200)           

Professional voice, acting and dance training culminating in full length musical (Tentatively “Aida” the school version)
                      
Music rehearsal: Thurs., July 26th  6:30-9:30
Dress rehearsal: Friday, July 27th  5:30-9:30

Performances: Saturday, July 28th at 7:30pm,
Sunday, July 29th at
2:30pm,
and Friday & Sat., Aug. 3rd  & 4th at 7:30pm

Pick up rehearsal Friday, Aug. 3rd 2:30-5:30pm
Students must be able to be in all 4 performances and production week
rehearsals to be in camp.

PRE-AUDITIONS for leading roles in the high school MTC will be held
the first week of June

Registration

Summer registration forms are usually sent to our mailing list again in
March. You can also use the enclosed form or download a form online. 
A $25.00 non-refundable registration fee is required for all summer camp
classes and subtracted from the total fee. The total fee is due the first
day of class unless other arrangements are made with the director.

Scholarships
Partial and full scholarships are available, minus the registration fee,
based on need, commitment and/or ability. There is also a 20% discount
available for siblings, subtracted from the lesser fee.


Young People’s Performing Company admits students of any race, color,

All camp classes, rehearsals and performances are held in the WTVD
theater in the Durham Arts Council building, 120 Morris Street, Durham,
